The Hihiko Hat (Māori for speed, swiftness) like its namesake, is a quick and breezy hat that can be knit in a day or two! The sister pattern to the Huatau Hat, this beanie can be knit up in just one skein of CFC Merino Sport yarn. The hat features an intricate Japanese lace paneling that shapes into a star formation at the crown.

Needle: US size 5 (3.75mm) 16 in. (40cm) circular needle and US size 5 (3.75mm) DPNs or size to obtain gauge. 
Yarns Used: CFC Merino Sport (Sport; 100% Merino Wool; 328 yds./297 meters; 100 g). 1 skein used in the color way Bisque. 
Yardage: 170-181 yards ; 155 - 165 meters 
Gauge: 21 sts (one lace repeat) over 3.5 in./9cm or 24 sts and 38 rows over 4 in./10cm in lace pattern.
