Advent Interuptions (Sermon Manuscripts Only)

Advent Interruptions (Sermon Text Only)

Four complete Advent sermons centered on the coming of Jesus Christ.

God’s Word interrupts ordinary lives with extraordinary promises. Through Joseph, Mary, the shepherds, and the birth of Jesus, Advent Interruptions explores uncertainty, surrender, hesitation, and the hope found in our Savior.

Written by Rev. Gabriel James, these sermons bring a warm, conversational voice to the biblical accounts. Grounded in Scripture each message clearly distinguishes Law and Gospel and directs hearers to Christ’s forgiveness and saving work.

Included sermons

• The Challenge of Obedience — Joseph faces an unexpected situation and receives God’s promise concerning the child Mary carries.
• When Is Surrender Strength? — Mary hears the angel’s announcement and trusts the Lord’s Word.
• Hesitate No More — The shepherds hear the good news of Christ’s birth and go to Bethlehem.
• Powerful Interruption — Jesus enters our world in humility, bringing salvation into the midst of ordinary life.

Use these complete manuscripts for sermon preparation, adapting them to your own voice and congregation, or for personal reading and reflection during Advent.
