July Socks 2026
July, the start of summer or for the UK this year the continuation of a scorchingly early summer. As someone who loves the heat I’m not complaining but there is nothing better than an evening walk along a beach to enjoy the cool sea, hence the beach inspired socks
Skill level
Started with a provisional cast on and a long stripe which goes around the ankle, picked up and knitted top roll and picked up and knitted heel turn onto the foot, all with a simple wave pattern. Written in three circumference sizes just follow Small (S), Medium (M) or Large (L) throughout the pattern
Materials needed
4ply sock yarn, approximately 60g (for a UK size 7 medium circumference) 240 meters / 262 yards - I’ve used a combination of West Yorkshire Spinners and Hobbii Sock Wool but these work well with a variegated yarn or whatever scraps you have
Needles: Four 2.5mm double pointed needles
Three moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors
Whilst this pattern has been tested and checked we are all human so if you do encounter any problems please let me know
