Martindales booklet
This is a slightly different jumper pattern inasmuch as it is more a “recipe book” for a variety of jumpers that can have short or long (or even medium length) sleeves. The jumpers are completely interchangeable and it really is up to you, the Knitter, to decide exactly what you want to make. These jumpers are all knitted top down and there are two different styles; yoke or raglan, but both types leave you with the same amount of stitches to work the sleeves and the body. You will see that there are various neck, cuff and bottom edges that can be chosen or even mixed up if that’s what you want to do. The point is that you can pretty well knit any “plain” jumper you want, summer or winter and just add colours, using what I call “punctuation points” (otherwise known as braids) or a few rows of contrast colour to mark a separation in your knitting. You can make stripes as wide or as small as you want, you can colour block in big, bold colours or you can just go for a muted, one colour jumper. But I will guarantee every one you knit will look different and will keep your interest going.
The sizes range from a 36" to a 54" bust and the jumpers are meant to be a loose fitting. They can be both long or short sleeved.
