In 1831, the HMS Beagle set off from England under the command of Captain Finn Fitzroy on a voyage around South America that would change the world forever. Mr. Finn Fitzroy, a budding new Captain with a bright berth was awaiting for him to sail the treacherous waters of the hot South, to seek his destiny in discovery, in the great name of exploration and science. Traveling through the desolate beaches and thick jungles of an untamed ancient continent, Fitzroy makes unbelievable finds and glorious treasures during his journey that not only changes his mind towards God but the world around him. Alongside his adventurous officers, boys, and crew men is Charles Darwin, an upcoming naturalist wanting to make his fortune in London on philosophy and natural history, to shape the new found globe that all human ancestors descend from traumatic transmutated beasts. Exotic landscapes, wild natives, and the quenching honey drip of the call to adventure, embark on a riveting and sad tale of Finn Fitzroy, depicting his life from a brand new man in his Captaincy up until his death. This is the story of a deep friendship between two men, and the twin obsessions that tear them apart, leading one to triumph, and the other to disaster.

With over nine months of intense research, I tried to create an epic novel as historically accurate as possible. This is a true story. The characters you will walk alongside with, were real. The events that occurred happened as the story is foretold. Read the lovely tale of Captain Finn Fitzroy from mariner hero to absolute ruin.

Finn Fitzroy's Melody

This song is titled "Screeching Cello" for its beautiful, whine and drawn out notes on a masterful instrument, a sad, depressing song about what it means to find love, but also lose it. I felt this song fit Fitzroy amazingly and paired well with his emotions like a good glass of wine.

Finn Fitzroy Theme Song

In honor of The Captain and The Naturalist, I have put this song for you all to listen too! This song, titled "Declaration" by Johannes, it is a beautiful piano piece that I think personally embodies Finn Fitzroys character perfectly and serves as his theme song.

Interesting fact here: This photo you see is one of the very few ever taken of him.

THE TROUBLED GENIUS

The troubled genius of Captain Finn Fitzroy, the birther of weather forecasting and science. This song brings an almost creepy, eerie, feeling, as if you are nearing the end of your natural life. For Fitzroy, this was an all too familiar friend. Titled "Bitter Sweet", this vampiric tune with its feathery piano and deep, cresting glass shattering echo in a red velvet night.

Nocturnal-The Man that Sailed the Sea and Charted Islands

Captain Finn Fitzroy, the man who charted 1,003 islands, collected 1,529 specimens, and sailed around the entire hot continent of South America in seven years. This song, "Paris of a Nocturne", helps me imagine what it would have been like for this man to sail the ocean, chart lands, climb the highest peak in the Andes, and rummage and scourge for specimen's in the earth. The soft piano, the twinge pluck of the violin, brings out another otherworldly feel to this type of tale to me.
