Fillingham Christmas Jumper
Those people who know my part of the Lincolnshire Wolds will be familiar with a little village just to the west of the Wolds and on the “cliff edge” where, every year, so many people go to make one of the most important decisions for Christmas: choosing their Christmas Tree. Certainly to me Chistmas is about family, the Christmas Tree, the services at Lincoln Cathedral, listening to A Chrismas Carol on audio books on the run up to Christmas Eve, and the warmth of being with loved ones. I know this isn't always possible for everyone, but in wearing this jumper I hope you at least feel “in the Christmas spirit”. Merry Christmas!
The sample shown was knit in Wool is the Answer 4 ply yarn (100 gms = 400 metres. It is 75% super wash merino and 25% nylon. You will need 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls of a main colour and 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) each of 20gm skeins of two contrast colours (that is 4 or 6 skeins in total depending on size made), plus one ball of a contrast for all of the mosaics. I used green for the Christmas Trees and red for the Christmas Lights with a silver background. You are strongly recommended to use colours that provide a strong contrast for the mosaic part as this will ensure the pattern is seen clearly. This is not the place to be subtle!!
