Christopher Columbus
Here's a transcription of a couple of Fats' live radio broadcast performances (performed less than a month apart) "mashed" into one.
Described as a “Rhythmic Cocktail" in the published sheet music, the tune was co-written by Fats' regular lyricist Andy Razaf and Leon "Chu" Berry.
The famous opening introduction riff was "borrowed" by Jimmy Mundy in his arrangement for Benny Goodman's Sing Sing Sing. I've adapted it for piano solo for performance purposes.
This is another "hybrid" performance where I've merged my digital transcription with the original recording so Fats' playing can be heard in its original context.
N.B. Chord symbols are general to the song and not always specific to Fats' chords.
