Dionysus in the Mirror unfolds in three interconnected sections.

Dionysus, the god of wine, celebration and ecstasy, is evoked through ethereal,

arabesque-like music.

In The Mirror, pitch becomes indeterminate and the music slips into temporal instability,

shaped by rapidly changing time signatures.

The Reflection draws loosely upon a fragmented retrograde of the opening section.

Motifs from the now-shattered mirror are varied and developed, refracting into three

individual solos before the ensemble reunites for the work’s conclusion.
