Brimpaen
Brimpaen is a pretty beanie with a little secret: the colourwork is far simpler than it first appears. Named after the small rural community of Brimpaen in Victoria, Australia, it draws inspiration from quiet country rhythms and understated beauty. Only one colour is ever worked in a round, with the pattern’s gentle interplay of shades created through clever slip stitches. The result is a warm, snug, and softly slouchy beanie that feels both effortless to knit and timeless to wear; perfect for slow days and open skies.
Construction:
Brimpaen is worked seamlessly in the round from the ribbed brim upwards. The body of the beanie can be worked in as few as one colour and as many as the knitter wishes, with slipped stitches used to create the stitch pattern. The sample uses ten. The crown is decreased dramatically to create a ruched effect.
