A festoon or not a festoon - that is the question.

Straight out the gate, I gotta say that a 'true' festoon necklace has several drapes or swags in its design, which Shannon clearly lacks, and as the festoon necklace is frequently wrongly identified - I don't want to add to the confusion!

Originally, however, 'festoon' was not a jewellery term, it referred to a wreath (of flowers) hanging from two points and was 'adopted' by the jewellery industry to define necklaces that hang 'like garlands', and arguably the Shannon Necklace does just that!

Also, as it was a vintage advert (see pic) for a festoon necklace that influenced the design and creation of The Shannon Necklace and Earring Set, so despite the lack of 'swags' and as a courteous nod to history of jewellery - to me tis a festoon!

That said, I would point you in the direction of The Google, where, if you tap in Dagmar Necklace, you'll discover the most famous example of a festoon necklace - the one Queen Elizabeth II wore when she became Queen in 1952.

The festoon is a perennially returning style of necklace and Shannon is the Jewellery by Favourite Things 2022 version!   As 'an update' of a classic I wanted zingy and zesty tones, but with a romantic edge, so I went with citrus orange, rose quartz and the warmth of gold toned metals.

The Shannon necklace has 5 cascading focals of graduating lengths, the longest of which measures 3 inches.  Shannon is a choker length (16 inches) but has and extender of 2 inches, finished with a drop charm and lobster claw clasp.

The Shannon Earrings replicate the pendant drops of the necklace, are two inches long and have stud fastenings.

This necklace will 'festoon' your décolletage with colour, the earrings will co-ord perfectly and you'll look amazeballs!

Trust me.
