In Alice Walker's epic novel The Colour Purple, the title refers to Shug asking Celie if she takes time to notice "...the little things..." using the colour purple to emphasise her point.
Purple is also associated with royalty and luxury.
Yep, purple has an excellent pedigree!
So, when I decided to design an affordable, but totally glamourous, regal statement, princess style necklace, that'd not only go wonderfully with a prom dress, wedding outfit or gala gown, but make the wearer feel like royalty, purple was an obvioius choice to make.
The Olivia Necklace and Earring set was a lengthy, labour of love, (and then some) from design through to creation, but very theraputic.
I crafted each of the beaded 'drop charms' (and there's a lot of 'em) individually, by hand, then, I carefully attached each one, securely, in its place on the silver tone chain, to create a dramatic 'cluster' effect.
Each of the links in Olivia's 16 inch (Choker) chain has a cut finish, for added sparkle, and the necklace fastens with a toggle clasp.
