After the Harvest captures a quiet moment in nature, when the work of the growing season is finished and the land seems to settle into a gentle stillness.

The warmth of the golden field contrasts with the cool blues of the sky, while small clusters of trees and shrubs bring a sense of life to the distant horizon. Layers of painted dots mingle together, allowing colours and shapes to connect without hard boundaries.

For me, painting nature is as much about exploring feelings as it is about creating an image. Here, there is something comforting about the openness of the landscape, the warmth of the colours, and the peaceful feeling that comes when nature pauses between seasons.

When I began this painting, I was drawn to the opening between the trees and the sense of distance it created. As I worked, something else began to emerge. The warmth of the golden field and the openness of the sky gradually brought a feeling of stillness to the landscape. It's one of the things I enjoy about painting — discovering feelings and possibilities that weren't necessarily there when I began.
