Any landing Charlie can limp away from is a good one!

After crash-landing in Kardos, Charlie returns to New Earth for the first time since her childhood and learns how much life has changed in the human settlement. New Earth is a reformed place of peace, beauty, and security… almost. The recent, mysterious string of kidnappings has left everyone on edge, and Charlie is determined to help her people.

When Kal arrives at New Earth, she sets her sights on Alpha Prime, who many believe are kidnapping the Earthlings. In a prearranged meeting with the fanatical group’s leader, Kal hopes to learn more about Alpha Prime and the kidnappings. With Charlie’s clever help, they uncover Alpha Prime’s secrets, leading them into a bloody civil battle.

Can Alpha Prime be stopped before the arrival of the Sworne? And how will the new threat challenge Charlie and Kal’s developing relationship? Join them on their first adventure together as they face off against an enemy bent on destroying Earthlings.

Love the world building and history of Kander.

I absolutely in love Charlie and Kal! I’m enjoying the continued development of their relationship and feelings about one another. They continue to learn new things about each other. We also get to learn more of their past in this book. My heart aches for them to have the mating bite! With every book they seem to occupy more and more space in my heart, as well as, the handful of other amazing other characters like Andren, Kaden, Raina, Dorlon, and Larken. I love getting all of the glimpses of Sumner underneath the Kal armor.
I really enjoyed learning more about Carnec Alpha’s anatomy, and the anti-rut process they go through.
In book 4 we definitely got some more world/universe building. We learn more of the history of Kal, the previous Kander, and Kalmar and other creatures who have occupied the planet. I really enjoyed Luthor’s new take on plants, gods, and spirits. I’m looking forward to learning more of the omega god of Kander.
I like how Kal focuses on one issue at a time and Alpha Prime needs to be dealt with. Kal knows that they need to settle the dispute with Alpha Prime, so that they aren’t have to fight against multiple enemies when the Sworne arrive.
