SKILL LEVEL

INTERMEDIATE - Crocheters looking to follow this pattern should know how to:

• Read a crochet pattern (there is NOT a video tutorial for this crochet storage basket pattern!)
• Work the basic stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet
• Work in the Back Loop Only (BLO)
• Work in closed and turned rounds
• Crochet a flat circle, increasing each round
• Single crochet 3 together and single crochet 2 together (sc3tog/sc3tog) or be willing to learn.
• Place a stitch “in the previous stitch” or be willing to learn.
• Prior knowledge of how to work the Trinity Stitch will be helpful but is not required
• Photo tutorials are included for all special stitches and techniques.

Step by step photo tutorials are included for “Body of Basket” (the sides) and the Handles. There is NOT a photo tutorial for crocheting the flat circle as Intermediate Crocheters should already know how to do this.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER PATTERN! Absolute Beginners will find this pattern *way* outside of their skill level. Advanced Beginners will likely also find this to be outside of their skill level but can push through if they are willing to learn and try new techniques they haven't come across yet, especially with all of the additional photos in the crochet basket pattern PDF.

PATTERN INCLUDES

1. A robust PDF with photo tutorials for all special stitches and techniques, step by step through Rounds 1 through 8 which will set you up to properly repeat the rows as necessary, and through the handles for Medium and Large sizes. This photo tutorial also has the steps written in detail, not short hand, to help you through as well as dots and arrows to clarify stitch placement for this crochet basket pattern, if needed.
2. Printer friendly PDF with no photo tutorials to save ink.

Small: 6 inches in diameter, 4 inches tall

Medium: 8 inches in diameter, 6 inches tall

YARN REQUIRED

You will need Bulky (5) weight yarn in 2 colors. A cotton or cotton blend yarn will work best. You will need approximately: 

Mini Color A: 30 g, 1.1 oz, 38 yds

Mini Color B: 20 g, 0.75 oz, 26 yds

Small Color A: 50 g, 1.76 oz, 64 yds

Small Color B: 45 g, 1.6 oz, 57 yds

Medium Color A: 115 g, 4.1 oz, 145 yds

Medium Color B: 85 g, 3 oz, 108 yds

Large Color A: 140 g, 4.95 oz, 178 yds

Large Color B: 130 g, 4.6 oz, 165 yds

If you alter the pattern in any way, your yarn usage will be different than listed.

Yarn Used: Yarnspirations Bernat Maker (previously known as “Home Dec”) in colorways Jam (Color A) and Cream (Color B). This yarn is 72% cotton, 28% nylon. 8.8 oz, 250g, 317 yds per skein.
