SKILL LEVEL

Advanced Beginner - Crocheters looking to follow this pattern should know how to:

• Read a crochet pattern - There is NOT a video tutorial for this crochet pattern
• Work the basic stitches: Chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and treble rochet
• Skip stitches
• Work several stitches into one stitch
• Sew (similar to weaving in ends, but secures the "bud" of the rose).

Crocheting these roses is fairly straightforward as each rose bud is made in 2 rows, making them quick, fun and easy to crochet. The harder parts of the pattern will be attaching the wire to the bud, wrapping the wire, etc., but it is not inherently difficult to do and the photo tutorials will walk you through each step.

This pattern is labeled as Advanced Beginner but a beginner who is feeling fairly confident in working a couple rows and the stitches/techniques above or is willing to learn should have fun learning new techniques with this pattern.

SIZE

Two sizes of rose bud are included, Large and Small. Rose bud, depending on size made, is approximately 2 to 3 inches in diameter.

Each rose is approximately 10 inches tall. You can change the height very easily, if you prefer.

Both the side of the crochet rose bud and the length of the stem can be customized easily.

YARN REQUIRED

The crochet roses created for the sample of this pattern used medium (4) weight yarn. However, you can use any scrap yarn you’d like!

You will need approximately 5-6 g or 8 yards per rose bud.

Yarn Used:  All yarn used in this pattern was scrap yarn left over from previous projects. I did not purchase any new yarn for this. I recommend using scrap yarn when possible!

If you alter the pattern in any way, your yarn usage will be different than listed.

Additional Required Materials:

18 Gauge Craft Wire (in any color for the stem - the color doesn't matter as it will be wrapped in yarn)

TOOLS 

• 5 mm (H-8) hook 
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch Markers
• Wire Cutters (or something to cut the craft wire with)
