About the Pattern:
My Grandma loved flowers, especially violets and pansies. I can’t remember a time we went for a visit where her kitchen wasn’t adorned with planters full of purple and pink flowers. So when I came across the pattern for this sweet little flower lace stitch, I couldn’t help but think of her, and I designed this hat with Violetta in mind.

This micro-striped hat is knit in a lightweight fingering yarn with just enough lace to make it cool enough to wear late in the fall and early into the spring. It’s designed to be slouchy and worn set back on your head as a fun accessory, but it can also be pulled down low over the ears for warmth. The micro-stripe is achieved by changing colors on every row or you could experiment with a fun self-striping yarn. The easy lace pattern keeps your attention while still being simple enough to enjoy some conversation with friends or to watch your latest tv binge.

Yarn: KnitPicks Palette (100% Peruvian Highland Wool, 2- ply fingering weight; 231 yards (211 meters), 50 g/ball, in 2 colors.
The sample was knit using 25 g each of Clematis Heather (MC) and Oregon Coast Heather (CC).
You can substitute any fingering weight yarn of your choice.

Needles: Choose a needle size that best helps you get gauge and a method you are comfortable with for knitting in the round. I used a US size 1.5 (2.5 mm) 40” circular for magic loop. I am a loose knitter so you may find yourself needing to go up a size or two.

Gauge: After blocking 30 sts and 39 rnds in stockinette stitch equals 4”/10 cm

Size: This hat will have about 2” of negative ease, and the sizes are written to fit 20(22, 23, 24)” head circumference.
The pattern will list these as XS(S, M, L).
