A shopping set for KS3, KS4 and post 16 SEND learners built around a normal UK weekly shop: an offers leaflet with multibuys, half price and loyalty card prices, shelf labels with the unit price per 100 g, a yellow sticker reduction, and a receipt with savings.

Why I made this

Supermarkets are full of numbers that are meant to make you spend: multibuys, loyalty card prices, "was" prices and yellow stickers. Learners who can read a shelf label and spot the cheaper price per 100 g stretch their money a lot further. Everything here is the kind of thing they will see on a normal weekly shop.

What's included

• Teacher page with a short note on the UK details

• Words to know: 10 key words with pictures (offer, multibuy, loyalty card, half price, was / now, unit price, own brand, reduced, use by, receipt)

• 3 practice documents: a FreshWay weekly offers leaflet, shelf labels comparing brand and own brand by unit price, and a receipt showing a multibuy and loyalty savings

• 12 Level A questions with pictures and three choices

• The same 12 questions at Level B, with open answers and room to show working

• A real life task: plan a week's shop with £12 using the offers, then explain one offer that was not worth it

• Answer key that shows where to find every answer

Two levels, same questions

Level A suits learners who need visual support and choices. Level B suits learners ready to write and show working. Because the questions match, the whole group can work from the same documents and go through the answers together.

How I use it

Bring in a real receipt and a couple of shelf label photos and compare them with the documents. The best conversation is about the multibuy: it is only a saving if you wanted two in the first place.

Who it is for

KS4, sixth form, FE college and post 16 SEND groups, learners on SEN Support, and supported internship or independent living programmes.

Please note

FreshWay, Bella and Sunny are made up. Prices are realistic for 2026 but will not match any real supermarket.
