Mukōjima-Hyakkaen Garden: A Flower Garden Through the Seasons
The Mukōjima-Hyakkaen Garden, built between 1804 and 1830 by an antiques dealer, is known for its hundred flowers that bloom throughout the four seasons. Originally featuring 360 ume trees, the garden has expanded to include various flowers and plants mentioned in classic Chinese and Japanese literature. It is the only surviving flower garden from the Edo Period and was uniquely not designed as part of a residence.
