Why Charlie Didn't Go

Mrs. Upton is in a flurry as she prepares for the arrival of Uncle Josh and Aunt Jane, realizing her home is in disarray and she has yet to bake bread or order dinner. She enlists her daughter Maria and son Charlie to help, but chaos ensues with the children’s demands and the dinner preparations. Uncle Josh proposes taking Charlie home with them for a visit, which pleases Aunt Jane but creates a frantic search for the boy, who is found in the barn. As Charlie eagerly gets ready to leave, he discovers he can't find his shoes, prompting another frantic moment as the family races against time to get him prepared before their guests depart.
