A practice of inner field mapping

Before you can seed anything new, you need to know the ground you're standing on.

Tend Your Soil is a 1-3 hour reflective practice that helps you map your inner landscape using the metaphor of soil. You'll walk through five territories—compacted soil, weeds, fallow fields, depleted soil, and living loam—to notice what's overused, what's inherited, what's resting, what needs care, and what's still fertile.

This isn't about fixing or optimising. It's about seeing what's actually here.

What you'll do:

  • Ground yourself with earth, candle, and intention
  • Walk five territories of your inner field, guided by questions and prompts
  • Create a literal map of what you've found using colored pencils and paper
  • Close with a gentle integration practice

What you'll need:

  • 1-3 hours (can be done in one session or over multiple sits)
  • A quiet space, access to earth (even a bit of dirt outside your door)
  • A candle, large paper, colored pencils
  • Willingness to notice without fixing

Perfect for:

  • Moments of transition or uncertainty
  • When you're feeling depleted but don't know why
  • Before starting something new (a project, a season, a relationship)
  • When you need to see your ground clearly before you plant

This practice is part of the Season of Seeding, a time of discernment and careful beginning.
