It appeared in the sky the night we closed the deal on our house. We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into, but the colors of this sunset were so glorious, it felt like vindication from the universe that we were on the right path. The seawater was cool and refreshing, the air calm and still. In the distance a few people were casting out their lines hoping to catch some black rockfish, while children near us laughed and played in the calm water.
