Not A Slave
This one is definitely a bit of a rallying cry. It came from a place of just being fed up with the way the world is set up right now—how it feels like the scales are always tipped in favor of a few people while everyone else is just trying to keep their heads above water.
I wanted the song to hit back against that feeling of being trapped. I used images like ticking clocks, pawns on a board, and heavy chains to really lean into that sense of being controlled by systems we didn't choose. It’s about that internal struggle to stop being complacent and to finally break free from those societal chains. For me, it’s a reminder that we aren't just cogs in a machine; we have to push for our own individual freedom if we’re ever going to see a world that's actually fair.
