Little Annie
I wrote this one to tell the story of a woman working on the streets, using her experiences to really challenge the way society looks at sex workers. I wanted to move past the labels and the stigma to show the person underneath it all.
The lyrics use a lot of vivid imagery to get into the heart of what she’s dealing with—the crushing loneliness, the desperation, and that basic human search for a real connection in a world that usually just looks right through her. By calling it "Little Annie," I wanted to humanize her and provide a much more nuanced look at a life that most people are too quick to judge. It’s about recognizing the dignity and the struggle of someone the world often tries to keep in the shadows.
