The Sunday Clutch is the perfect summer crochet accessory for Sunday coffee dates with friends or little outings around town. Small enough to not be a hassle yet big enough to carry important items like your phone, this crochet clutch is perfect for grab-and-go. 

This crochet clutch pattern is worked flat as a square, seamed like an envelope and adorned with an adorable button for a secure close. The envelope seam creates a beautiful diamond shape and diagonal lines for visual interest. 

You can create a handle for your clutch as shown (and instructed) or skip the handle, your choice! Finish with a cute tassel or other charm and you're ready for anything.

SKILL LEVEL

ADVANCED BEGINNER - Crocheters looking to follow this pattern should know how to:

• Read a crochet pattern (there is NOT a video tutorial for this crochet pattern!)
• Work the basic stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet
• Work in the Round, including slip stitching to close.
• Move the working yarn over by slip stitching
• Creating chain spaces and working into them
• Seaming a project
• Sewing on buttons
• Prior knowledge of the Moss Stitch will be helpful but is not required.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER PATTERN! Absolute Beginners will find this pattern outside of their skill level.

PATTERN INCLUDES

1. A robust PDF with photo tutorial for what each round should look like prior to row repeats, as well as photos to help with seaming, creating your handle, etc. This photo tutorial also has the steps written in detail, not short hand, to help beginners through. 
2. Printer friendly PDF with no photo tutorials to save ink.

TERMS USED

US Standard - Pattern is written in English and will not be translated to any other language. 

SIZE

Before seaming: Approximately 12 inches x 12 inches.

After seaming: Approximately 8 inches wide x 7.5 inches tall (without handle).

Handle length: Approximately 18 inches long (without clasps) and 1 inch wide.

YARN REQUIRED

You will need Medium (4) weight cotton yarn in 2 colors. You will need approximately: 

Color A: You will need approximately 2.3 oz / 65g / 145 yards.

Color B: You will need approximately 1 oz / 25g / 55 yards.

If you alter the pattern in any way, your yarn usage will be different than listed.

Yarn Used: We Crochet's Comfy Worsted in Whisker (grey) and Ivory (white/cream).

TOOLS 

• 4 mm (G-6) hook 
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch Markers

Additional Materials Required

• 1 Button approximately 0.75 inches in diameter
• 2 0.75 inch D Ring Lobster clasps (or to purchase a handle already made with lobster clasps), if you prefer a handle.
