M1 Carbine

The M1 Carbine was introduced in 1941 and chambered in .30 Carbine, a cartridge more powerful than a pistol round but lighter and less powerful than full rifle rounds. It used a short-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt, and was fed from a 15-round detachable box magazine. Lightweight, with low recoil and decent accuracy, it was widely used in World War II, Korea, and even early in the Vietnam War.
