Knit Loud Mitts & Cowl

About the motif

«At home we LOVE music!» and this very first design is inspired by the texture of an amplifier/speaker. Last winter, when it came time to knit a pair of mitts for my son who plays the drums, I thought knitting this fun repeated pattern with the beautiful, sheepy palette of Daughter of a Shepherd’s Ram Jam would be a great synthesis of function (warm and sturdy) and form (speaking to a musical theme!) I designed the Knit Loud set with sustainability, durability and comfort in mind.

Whatever you have to do (from playing music, to gardening, to using tools or screen devices), the Knit Loud Mitts are easy to put on (no right or left hand) and let your fingers move freely. The Knit Loud Cowl is easy to put on too, and both are really fun and quick to knit!

About Knit Loud Mitts & Cowl

Using a simple, stranded colourwork design, Knit Loud Mitts are worked in Ram Jam Worsted by Daughter of a Shepherd, using a firm gauge and following a fun, repeated pattern. The result is a dense and structured fabric that will keep your hands warm.
If you fancy a complete Knit Loud set, you will have fun knitting the Knit Loud Cowl too. Using the same chart as the mitts but at a slightly larger gauge, you will get a cowl that wraps near your neck with just enough drape to feel comfortable.

Note that 1x50g skein of each shade of Ram Jam allows you to knit a complete Knit Loud set in sizes S or M. You will need 2 skeins of Natural Black to make the set - in size L.
