I love movies and Labyrinth is one of my first film memories. I discovered that it was released 35 years ago! Now, I didn’t see this film in the cinema. I saw it at home and I was far too young really to see the film. I will admit, for a lot of years afterwards, I just couldn’t watch this film. It scared me beyond belief and gave me nightmares. I even couldn’t look at David Bowie for several years as I was just creeped out. I was way too young for this film when I first saw it. Most people when they watched it for the first time had really happy memories from the film

Although this film gave me nightmares as a child, I have a lot of memories of it. A lot of people also have a lot of nostalgia from it. As children, don’t we all love a maze? Memories of running around trying to find the centre and then trying to find the exit. A little bit of children’s joy! Even now, although I don't have the same joy as I did when I was a child, it's still fun to do especially when you see all the children having fun and you remembering that. This cowl is double knit so it will be toasty whilst you run around the maze with your family!

This cowl is worked in the round and in double knitting. Double knitting means you have two layers of fabric created simultaneously. This means that you have two different looks as the colours are reversed on the inside.

I chose to do this as double knitting for two reasons. One is that when you’re pulling the cowl off and on you don’t have to worry about snagging at the floats. Also, this means the cowl will be super warm for the winter as you will have the double layer.

This could be done without doing double knitting and just you’re usual colourwork knitting. if you chose to do this be wary of the floats and make sure you catch them as you go.
