Description:

Three works from Handel’s opera, Acis and Galatea, including some well known Sopranino recorder lines:
  • Overture
  • Ye Verdant Plains (recitative) and Hush Ye Pretty Warbling Quire (aria)
  • O Ruddier Than the Cherry (aria)
These three works encompass a range of recorder ensemble skills, including sweet and slow tutti playing in the recitative, strong basslines throughout, and several virtuosic moments for Alto and Sopranino recorders. An impressive addition to any concert programme, and ideal for intermediate-advanced ensembles both large and small.

The Alto 1 part doubles the Sopranino here, and the Bass can always be doubled an octave lower with a Contra-Bass if available. The second piece in the collection includes an optional extra Alto part, for larger ensembles.

*All three pieces are also available separately!
