Description:

*We also have a version of this fugue for SATB recorders only!*

This fugue, originally for organ or harpsichord, is arranged here in three possible constellations:
  • Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass (in F);
  • Alto, Tenor, Bass (in F) and Great-Bass (in C);
  • Bass (in F), Great-Bass (in C), Contra-Bass (in F) and Sub-Great-Bass (in C).
These are just some of the possible arrangements of this piece, and we hope they inspire ensembles to explore different instrumentations and the many different timbres that can be achieved by combining different recorders. The delicate twists and turns of this fugue are ideal for players wishing to experiment with their articulation, dynamics and ensemble playing. A BLOCK4 favourite for many years, and a piece we still perform to this day!

In this piece, all parts are of an equal difficulty level.
