From a USA Today bestselling author comes a brand new small town suspense romance perfect for fans of western thriller dramas and big-city heat.

I came to Finn River to get away from trouble. Of course it found me anyway – in the form of a forbidden kiss.

After a narrow escape from Alaska and months on the run, I take a security gig that doesn’t ask any questions about my past. But it didn’t take long before trouble came knocking—first, a dangerous rescue, second, sharing my secrets with the one girl I shouldn't trust.

I need to stay away from Sofie Whittaker. Not only are we from different worlds, with two very different futures, being with her puts us both at risk. But her bright blue eyes and rare smile haunt my days, her sassy mouth and tight curves consume my nights. The more I try to push her away, the more entwined our lives become, until the morning I find her in my bed, begging me to make her mine.

But it all comes crashing down the night my past catches up to me. No way am I letting Sofie go—but in fighting for her, will I break us for good?

Finn River

Love Me Dangerous is the first book in this fabulous new series. Zach is on the run from his violent stepfather when he meets Sofie in Canada. He saves Sofie and her brother, Jesse when they are in an accident on their way home to Finn River. Zach tries to stay away from Sofie as to not expose her to danger. There is a great mix of danger, romance sand suspense. This audiobook was absolutely phenomenal. Robert Hatchet and Laura Horowitz were both brilliant in their narration. Robert Hatchet was wonderful in his portrayal of Zach and other characters. Laura Horowitz was perfect as Sofie. You could feel all of the characters’ emotions through their voices. These two extremely talented voice actors brought this story to life. I highly recommend listening to this spectacular audiobook.

Wow! Such an amazing read!

Even though this is a new series for Dakota it features Zach from the Wild Hearts Series.
This story can be read as a stand alone but if you’re a fan like me then reading Wild Hearts introduces you to the man that did the only thing he could do, which was leave Alaska to protect himself and his loved ones.
This story had me captivated from the first chapter.
In true “Dakota style” this story has a mix of danger, intrigue and a mystery to try and solve.
Multiple encounters with a gorgeous woman ends up unknowingly leading Zach to Finn River, Idaho.
With them both inevitably meeting up again their friendship begins.
With so much happening this story really heats up.
Danger is too close.
Sofie and Zach have some tender and steamy moments, but can anything come of their feelings when he needs to at some stage return home to make everything right.
I loved the new and the old characters that intertwined in this story and look forward to more stories in Finn River.
It was a fantastic start to a new series, I’d gladly give this story more than 5 stars if I could.
I love audiobooks and this was the most amazing audiobook narration.
Both Laura Horowitz and Robert Hatchet were superb in their roles of Sofie and Zach - in my opinion, excellent and at times so scorchingly hot 🔥🔥
I loved listening to every minute of it.
I thoroughly recommend both this ebook and audiobook.

Read and Listened to this book!

I had the privilege of reading and listening to Love Me Dangerous. It was perfection, both the story and delivery options! I didn't want to put the book down and was able to continue by picking up the audiobook when I had to leave the house. I love when I am able to completely read and listen to one book versus reading one and listening to another. I'll choose buying the book and audiobook as often as possible from my favorite authors.

This is a standalone, although we see characters from previous books. It added to my investment of this new series and I easily fell in love with the town of Finn River, Idaho. Zach and Sofie’s story is suspenseful and romantic. The characters made Zach feel welcomed and gave him a purpose while waiting for a solution with his step father. He has a hard time trusting and needs to learn to do so. My heart cracked several times. I cried at the end and wasn't ready for it to be over. We get a beautiful HEA. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book/audiobook!

Laura Horowitz and Robert Hatchet are excellent narrators! Both quickly becoming favorite narrators of mine. They performed with emotion that had it rolling like a movie in my head. Love their voices. Perfect casting, perfect performances.

I Loved It

My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this beautifully written suspenseful, emotional and romantic story. From the opening chapter of Zach and Sophie's story, I was hooked and compelled to keep listening.

This emotional rollercoaster ride flows so well and is full of drama, suspense, mystery, angst, palpable chemistry, steamy romance and love. It tells how Zach and Sophie met and the obstacles they had to overcome to be together. The characters are wonderfully well-drawn, have such depth and are perfect for each other.

Zach is on the run, hiding from his stepfather, who is involved in many different criminal activities and has framed Zach for a crime he didn't commit. At the start of the story, Zach, who is from Alaska, is working security for a band touring the country. But the band's next gig would mean going back towards Alaska, so he needs to leave and move on. On his last night, he noticed Sophie in a potentially dangerous situation, so he intervened and defused the situation before it could escalate. But that would not be the last he saw of her or her friends, as he saw her again on his way out of town, and then again on the road to his next location.

Zach hitched a ride in the back of a horse trailer belonging to Henry Hutton, but then something happens that forces him to reveal himself and eventually leads to him going home with Henry to Finn River, Idaho It's there he finds a job and a home for himself with Barb and Henry Hutton and meets more wonderful people. Finn River is Sofie's home, and it's not long before they meet again. He gets a job and starts to carve out a life for himself, even allowing himself to enjoy spending time with Sophie. As part of his new job, he discovers that some bad people are trafficking drugs into Finn River, and he gets caught in the middle as his past comes back to haunt him and forces him to do something he knows is wrong. Zach has his reasons for doing what he does, the main one being William, his younger brother, whom he desperately wants to get back to as soon as he can, but that would mean leaving Sofie, his love. Can he ask her to wait? Will she love him still when she knows everything?

I loved watching Sofie and Zach get to know each other, overcome their fears and watch as the mystery unfolded. Dakota's descriptive writing style and world-building are excellent, as are the growth and development made by each of the characters.

The narration is by Laura Horowitz and Robert Hatchet; they both did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life by bringing out their personalities and giving each an individual and fitting voice. They made these characters their own. Robert was perfect as Zach, and Laura was Sofie! But they were also incredible in their portrayals of the secondary characters; each voice was different but each perfect.

Dangerous

Brilliant dual narration from Robert Hatchet and Laura Horowitz, who bring the characters, drama and romance to your ears, perfect.

Zach finds himself in Finn River as he finds himself running from danger. He finds the town friendly and accepting. But danger is not far away.
Sophia is dealing and navigating her own family's dramas. She trying to hold her own family together. When she meets Zach cant not but be drawn compassion.
You will find this book full of wonderful characters, emotion, drama, family, romance and the right amount steam.
