small town friends to lovers murder mystery romance from USA Today bestselling author Dakota Davies.

Attending my best friend Noah’s wedding last summer was both the best thing and the worst thing to ever happen to me. The best was meeting Cora Tucker, Noah’s feisty little sister. That night we danced, laughed ourselves silly, and shared our dreams. Though we both knew it was just friendship, our chemistry crackled like a lit fuse.

Not kissing her was the worst thing that could have happened to me. That and saying goodbye.

So when my sheriff resigns in the middle of a high-stakes murder case and I’m suddenly a candidate for his replacement, there’s only one person I trust to help me win. Two days after my desperate call, Cora shows up looking as beautiful and confident as ever. Yet it’s clear this idea I hatched is making us miserable—me for having to resist the sassy spitfire, and Cora for inheriting an impossible campaign, and an impossible boss.

But as our passion for each other flares to life, the criminal forces at work in my valley are watching, and they don’t like what they see…

If you like a twisty mystery intertwined with sexy, spicy small town suspense, you will love Cora & Seth's high-octane romance set in small town Alaska!

Author's note: this story completes the Wild Hearts small town romantic suspense series featuring the hunky men in uniform of Storm Harbor. Enjoy it as a stand-alone or binge the whole series starting with book 1, Her Wild Coast Outlaw.

Resolving the Past, Fighting for the Future

Cora Tucker and Seth Dalton have undeniable chemistry, but they are both holding back. I love the story, the background, and the overall direction of this book.

The tension between them is fantastic! I love how it breaks down only to build up again. The final straws are heart-wrenching yet perfect for them and the situation.

I do wish the final disposition of all of the cases was included. Even though we learn who the bad guys are, a nice bow with how they were caught, if they made it to trial, pled out, or were eliminated, and where things stand as of the end of the last chapter would have been icing on the cake.

This is part of a connected series with an overarching mystery that's built upon. As such, it's recommended that the series be read in order. Really, it shouldn't be a hardship. You may even thank me for it. 😉

I initially read the book and later added audio. The narrators are Robert Hatchet and Allyson Voller. Both of whom I've listened to and enjoyed many times over the years, and this was no exception. 🎧💚🎧

Great Conclusion

This is book six of this interconnected series. The story is told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. This can be read as a standalone, but in my opinion, it is better read in order as there is a mystery that spans throughout the whole series.

I listened to the audiobook for this story and used my KU to read along with it. The narrators once again, did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life and made me feel like I was experiencing it first hand. I love their narrations and can’t wait to hear more of their work.

I loved Seth and Cora’s chemistry. I loved that his best friend (and Cora’s brother) encouraged them to work together and wasn’t against their relationship. I loved that Seth proved to her that he could be there for her in her time of need instead of putting his job first.

Cora was the perfect fit to run Seth’s campaign for sheriff. She definitely helped to take the stress off of him while he focused on finding and fitting the pieces of the puzzle together in order to solve a mystery that spanned all six books.

I was happy to get the “big” mystery solved, and I can’t wait to find out what happened with Zach. Although, I do wonder why his mom was so quick to marry that sleazeball after losing her husband though. Maybe I’ll get that answer in Zach’s book (the spin-off to this series that is coming). I was provided an advanced listeners copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

Excellent conclusion to the series

I loved this conclusion of the series where all the loose ends and the ongoing mystery is finally wrapped up! It was a really satisfying listen from both a series conclusion POV and for the narration which was great. I actually want to relisten to the whole series now that it's fully available as there were some bits that I'd forgotten and being able to binge listen to it will be great.

Cora and Seth were really great characters who I loved from the start and I really liked how their relationship evolved as they worked together on his campaign. I'd love more stories in Storm Harbour please!

promise

Seth and Cora meet the attraction was instantaneous. Problem is both of them are seeing other people. The next time they meet both are single.
Seth hasn't been able to forget Noah's sister Cora. One problem is Cora doesn't date cops. So he just has to live with their happy interaction at the wedding.
When the sheriff became ill, Seth is nominated for the job. Seth's ex wants vengeance and is running for it too. He didn't realise he had to run a campaign , so Cora helps him.
With them working close together, their chemistry and feelings are hard to escape from.

This book has suspense, murder, angst, romance, and steam.

Loved the amazing dual narration of Robert Hatchett and Allyson Voller

Wild Hearts Wow!

Dakota Davies stole my heart with Her Wild Coast Promise (Wild Hearts Book 6)! Ending a series is never easy and as a reader, this one is bittersweet. Cora and Seth bring everything together for the series as well as for themselves, albeit a bit reluctantly then wholeheartedly and heroically.
I so enjoyed reading this book, but enjoy just feels like too tame of a word. The characters drew me in from the beginning, it was adore at first word for Cora and swoon for Seth. I love them both, but Seth is so different from the other alpha heroes in this series that to me he really stood out. Sweet, tender, caring, kind and a little bit bossy too. I was totally charmed from the get go. And Cora is boundless energy lit by inner sunshine. Not to mention smitten and determined to help Seth.
But that’s not all. This book is adventurous and suspenseful. The storyline/plot had my heart racing, tripping, stopping and pounding! There’s so much going on in Seth’s Valley that as a Sheriff’s Deputy he feels responsible for. Then there’s the campaign that Cora came to Alaska for, so much at stake. And the chemistry between Seth and Cora is enough on it’s own to get your heart racing all on its own. Even the emotional tensions got my heart rate up!
My listening experience was exceptional! The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life and the action into living color in my mind's eye. All the feels that you can imagine a romantic suspense would inspire were so realistic, the feelings of each character was palpable making this listening experience entertaining in every way you can imagine. The narrator's voices were amazing and very consistent throughout.
Overall, this book has it all as far as I’m concerned. Adventure, suspense, mystery and most important of all, another epic love that leads to a forever HEA. You really don’t want to miss this book whether you want to read or listen!
I read/listened to an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
