This soft hug of a pullover offers the comfort of a misty walk in the woods, thanks to its generous cowlneck, extra-long sleeves and gently wandering cables. Whether kicking up leaves or curled up on the sofa, it’s your wearable security blanket.

Size:
Bust: 83 (91.5, 101.5, 112, 122, 132, 142, 152.5, 162.5) cm / 32.75 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64) in. Shown in size L with 2.5 cm / 1 in negative ease at full bust.

Difficulty: advanced
Skills: working in the round; German short rows (tutorial included); cables; increasing and decreasing; picking up stitches; three-needle cast-off (tutorial included)

You will need:
1220 (1315, 1465, 1555, 1695, 1805, 1940, 2045, 2135) m / 1335 (1440, 1605, 1700, 1850, 1975, 2120, 2235, 2340) yds of DK yarn. Alpaca offers ideal warmth and softness with drape.

Sample uses GGH Baby Alpaka; 100% undyed alpaca, 101 m / 110 yds per 50g ball: 16 balls in colour 09, medium grey

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle, 60 cm / 24 in long
3.75 mm / US 5 circular needle, 60 cm / 24 in long
3.75 mm / US 5 circular needle, a little shorter than your chosen circumference at bust
3.75 mm / US 5 DPNs or your preferred needles for working small circumferences in the round
4 mm / US 6 circular needle, a little shorter than your chosen circumference at bust
4 mm/US 6 DPNs

8 stitch markers
cable needle
1 large and 2 small stitch holders
yarn needle
row counter (optional but recommended)

Notes:
The sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up, with exposed sleeve and shoulder seams. It is worked inside out to minimise purling.

You will need to follow multiple sets of shaping instructions at the same time (these at-the-same-time sections are clearly flagged). Use of a row counter or two is recommended!
