Zuza in a Tango Studio — Original Darkroom Print
This is a print of an open edition — a hand-printed silver gelatin photograph of Zuza Kidziak, shot in 2025 inside a grand tango studio in the heart of Hamburg's St. Pauli.
A seasoned ballet dancer, Zuza holds the tension between discipline and abandon in a single frame — poised on pointe, grounded in a room that has heard decades of music and movement. The chandeliers, the parquet floor, the mirrors: a stage that needed no dressing.
Every print in this edition is made by hand in my own darkroom, on Ilford Baryta — a premium fibre-based paper prized for its extraordinary tonal depth, crisp detail, and long-term archival stability. This is not a digital reproduction. It's a print made with light, chemistry, and time.
