The knitting is easy, although almost all the techniques may be new to most knitters. This is a super cozy, oversized cowl that will shelter you from the fiercest of storms. The double garter stitch pattern is worked on every one of its 52 rows. The two selvage ends are joined together in an intriguing and attractive double bind-off similar to three-needle bind-off.

• 5 mm (US 8) circular needle, 100 cm (40") long
• One 5 mm (US 8) double-pointed needle

Gauge
16 sts and 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) over double garter stitch pattern using 5 mm (US 8) needle.

Substitution Notes
Choose a smooth, bulky weight yarn. Multiple strands of lighter weight yarns may also be used to achieve the bulky gauge.

Techniques
Double garter st with special cast on and bind off (included in instructions), worked flat.
