Calm the Room PD Day Packet is a 6 hour self run professional development day for teachers, paraprofessionals, related service staff, and building leaders. Your own trainers run it from the scripts. There is no live video and no presenter fee.

Created and classroom tested by a special education teacher, with AI drafting help.

Life is short. Go help someone!

The calmest tool in any room is the adult. Staff learn the Calm the Room Method in four steps: Read the room, Own your calm, Offer a Calm Move, Mend and reconnect. The day also covers para roles, when to step in, work refusal, reconnecting after a hard moment, team planning, confidentiality and IEP basics for paras, and scenario practice by grade band, including ages 14 to 21.

Who it is for

Whole staff or SPED teams in K to 12 and 18 to 21 programs. Strong fit for buildings that want one shared language for calm support with students ages 14 to 21 and younger grades in the same method.

How it runs

A local lead follows the facilitator guide word for word the first time. Modules can also run as short PLC slices across several weeks.

Site license

This listing is the single school license at $349: one building, unlimited staff, 12 months of use. A district wide license is $1,950 when listed.

Important

This training does not carry accreditation. Your district decides whether these hours count toward professional development requirements.

Certificates document attendance and completion. They are not a state license or university credit.

This is prevention and calming training only. It is not restraint or seclusion training and does not replace any physical intervention certification your state or district requires. If anyone is in danger, staff follow the school safety plan. All scenarios are fictional.
