One parenting knot, one focused session, one practical plan

A calm, one-off coaching session for parents or carers who have one specific situation they need help untangling.

Perhaps your child is struggling with holidays, changes, routines, school, family plans or something else that keeps going round and round in your head.

You don't need somebody to tell you that you should be more consistent.

You don't need a giant parenting programme or another generic list of strategies that does not quite fit your child.

What you do need is space to explain what is happening, work out what may be sitting underneath it and find a practical way forward that makes sense for your actual family.

That is what the Parenting Untangle Session is for.

Your child is not a problem to fix

There is usually a reason why something feels difficult.

A holiday might involve uncertainty, disrupted routines, unfamiliar places, sensory overload and expectations that feel impossible to meet.

A school-morning battle might begin much earlier than the moment somebody refuses to put their shoes on.

A child who appears to be resisting a plan may be trying to communicate that something about it feels unsafe, confusing or overwhelming.

Together, we will slow everything down, look beneath the surface and untangle the actual difficulty from all the noise surrounding it.

What could we untangle?

You can bring one specific parenting situation, such as:

  • A child who finds holidays or travelling difficult
  • Anxiety around changes, transitions or unfamiliar places
  • A routine that repeatedly falls apart
  • School or home-education difficulties
  • A family event that feels impossible to plan for
  • Meltdowns, shutdowns or growing overwhelm around a particular situation
  • Uncertainty about how much support, preparation or flexibility to offer
  • Feeling as though you have tried everything and no longer know what to do next

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what the problem is.

Finding the real knot is part of the session.

This session may be right for you if:

You have one particular situation you want help with.

You feel stuck, muddled or unsure what to try next.

You want somebody who understands neurospicy brains and real family life.

You need practical ideas that can be adapted to your child, rather than a generic parenting script.

You want to understand what might be driving the difficulty, without blaming yourself or your child.

You would like support without committing to a longer coaching programme.

How it works

The Parenting Untangle is a 90-minute online session focused on one specific parenting situation.

Before we meet, I will send you a short form so you can tell me what has been happening, what you have already tried and what you would most like help with.

During the session, we will:

  • Talk through what is happening
  • Look for patterns, pressure points and possible unmet needs
  • Separate the main difficulty from everything that has gathered around it
  • Consider what your child may be communicating through their behaviour
  • Explore practical ideas that fit your child and your family
  • Create a realistic plan for what to try next

Your child does not need to attend the session. Where appropriate, we will think about how their views and preferences can be included in the plan.

What you will leave with

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • A clearer understanding of what may be making the situation difficult
  • A calmer sense of what deserves attention first
  • Practical ideas chosen for your particular child and circumstances
  • A simple, flexible plan for your next steps
  • Permission not to fix everything at once

We are untangling one knot, not alphabetising the entire family spaghetti cupboard.

Investment

The Parenting Untangle Session costs £97.

This includes:

  • A short pre-session form
  • One 90-minute online session
  • A practical plan created during our time together and sent out shortly after
  • A brief written summary of the agreed next steps

If you try the plan and later decide that a review session would be useful, we can arrange that separately. You do not need to commit to ongoing support.

About me

I’m Gill, and I help neurospicy people make sense of what is happening and find practical ways forward that work with their brains rather than against them.

My experience includes 20 years as a primary-school teacher, five years as a nursery manager, Forest School leadership, craft teaching and coaching.

I also bring lived experience of ADHD and neurospicy family life.

My approach is warm, practical and free from judgement. I am not interested in making children more convenient for the adults around them. I want to understand what is making something difficult and find support that respects the child as well as the rest of the family.

After purchase, you will receive a welcome PDF with the link to book your session and complete your pre-session form.

A gentle note:

This session offers practical support, reflection, guidance and personalised next steps for parents and carers.

It is not a diagnostic service, therapy, medical advice, an educational assessment or a replacement for support from qualified health, education or mental-health professionals.

I will not diagnose your child or promise to solve everything in one session.

What I can do is help you look at the situation differently, understand possible patterns, notice hidden pressure points and create a realistic plan for what to try next.

If what you describe falls outside my experience or would be better supported by another professional, I will tell you honestly.
