Lesson_68_Potiphars_House
Joseph is sold to Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh's guard. Even as a slave, Joseph is so excellent and
honorable that God blesses everything he does, and Potiphar puts him in charge of his entire massive estate.
But Joseph's integrity is soon put to a brutal test. Potiphar's wife repeatedly tries to seduce him. Joseph refuses,
telling her that it would be a wicked sin against God and against his master. One day, she corners him in an
empty house and grabs his cloak. Joseph literally runs for his life, leaving his coat in her hands. Furious at
being rejected, she uses the coat to falsely accuse him of assault, and Joseph is thrown into a dark Egyptian
dungeon. Today, we focus on the physical action of fleeing danger, the definition of absolute integrity, and the
painful reality that doing the right thing sometimes hurts.
