Th. A. Findeisen: „Romantische Suite“ op. 10

Die „Romantische Suite“ für Violine und Kontrabass des bekannten Kontrabass-Pädagogen und -Virtuosen besteht aus 4 Charakterstücken, denen Findeisen jeweils eigene romantische Titel gegeben hat: 1. „Am Birkenwald“, 2. „Nächtlicher Marsch der Gnomen“, 3. „Unterm Haselbusch“ und 4. „Erlauscht“. In Kombination mit den zugehörigen Tempoangaben kann man sich gut vorstellen, welche Charaktereigenschaften die Sätze haben. Die Stimmen sind für beide Instrumente recht anspruchsvoll. Die Kontrabass-Stimme ist in Solostimmung (einen Ton tiefer) notiert.

The "Romantic Suite" for violin and double bass by the well-known double bass pedagogue and virtuoso consists of 4 character pieces, each of which Findeisen has given its own romantic title: 1st "Am Birkenwald", 2nd "Nächtlicher Marsch der Gnomen", 3rd "Unterm Haselbusch" and 4th "Erlauscht". In combination with the corresponding tempo indications, it is easy to imagine the characteristics of the movements. The parts are quite demanding for both instruments. The double bass part is notated in solo tuning (one tone lower).
