W. A. Mozart: Sonaten Nr. 3

Sonaten für Violine und Kontrabass von Mozart? So ist es. Diese Sonaten bestehen aus jeweils 4 Sätzen aus den 12 „Kegelduetten“ für zwei Bassetthörner. Das ist für die Konzertpraxis ganz gut, weil 4 Sätze von Mozart als Sonate sich im Konzert besser eignen als das Publikum mit allen 12 Stücken zu ..., na ja „beglücken“. Alle 12 wären recht langatmig, obwohl es insgesamt eine angenehme Musik ist, eben Mozart. In wohldosierter Portion von 4 Sätzen sind diese Sonaten eine echte Bereicherung der Kontrabass-Literatur, die für den Bassisten dabei auch noch anspruchsvoll ist, da viele Teile der Bassstimme sich im Violinsystem aufhalten, während für den Geiger das Ganze mehr eine angenehme Übung ist.

Die „Kegelduette“ liegen auch komplett in einer Bearbeitung für Violoncello und Kontrabass vor und sind auf der CD “cello bass duette” zu hören.

Sonatas for violin and double bass by Mozart? That's right. These sonatas each consist of 4 movements from the 12 "cone duets" for two basset horns. This is quite good for concert practice, because 4 movements by Mozart as a sonata are better suited to a concert than ..., well, "delighting" the audience with all 12 pieces. All 12 would be quite lengthy, although it is pleasant music overall, just Mozart. In well-dosed portions of 4 movements, these sonatas are a real enrichment of the double bass literature, which is also demanding for the bass player, as many parts of the bass part are in the violin system, while for the violinist the whole thing is more of a pleasant exercise.

The "Kegelduette" are also available in their entirety in an arrangement for cello and double bass and can be heard on the CD "cello bass duette".
