Bryn is an ideal first two-colour brioche pattern.

Work the basic brioche stitch along with increases and decreases to create this gorgeous linear design which can be worn in a variety of ways.

There are two circumference options, an optional garter stitch border, instructions for working the cowl both flat and in the round, AND you can make the cowl as tall as you wish.

Note: To really understand how two-colour brioche knitting is constructed, I recommend you start by working a flat version of the cowl (pages 4-5). It is also much easier to keep track of where you are in the pattern!

Suggested Yarn

Town End Yarns, Poldale DK (Pure Falklands Wool, 122m per 50g),

1 x 50g ball of each of two highly contrasting colours (this is enough for the large cowl, the smaller cowl will give you generous leftovers).

Needles

5mm circular, 60-80cm long (60cm if working in the round)

5.5mm knitting needle for cast-on and cast- off only.

Notions

1 stitch marker (when worked in the round only)

Tapestry Needle

Finished Measurements

Small without (with) garter stitch border: 52.5cm circumference x 18cm (20cm) high
