I Ain’t Got Nobody
Here's my transcription of Fats' introductory piano solo from two performances of I Ain't Got Nobody: the well-known sung version and the instrumental version, both from the same recording session in 1935.
Composed by his friend Spencer Williams, Fats recorded this song many times and in many iterations. Probably the most famous is his slow and beautifully reflective piano solo version from 1937. He also recorded it on the pipe organ in 1927.
Due to balance issues, some of Fats' notes are sometimes barely audible, so some educated guesses were necessary.
