Batch Style Renaming with GREP Pattern Matching
GREP Batch Rename Styles is an Adobe InDesign script that renames many styles at once using one or more find/replace rules. Editing style names by hand in the Styles panels is slow and error-prone; this script applies your rules across every style name in a single pass, covering five style types in the same run.
It handles paragraph, character, object, table, and cell styles, can optionally rename the style groups (folders) that contain them, and matches using either the full InDesign GREP engine or a plain text mode. Rules run in order, system styles are protected, and any name collisions are resolved automatically with numbered suffixes.
