What exactly is neurodivergent burnout?

Neurodivergent burnout refers to a state of physical and emotional exhaustion commonly experienced by individuals with neurodivergent traits, such as ADHD and Autism. It can occur as a result of many things including prolonged periods of stress and overstimulation. These are both a common result of simply existing in a society that wasn’t designed to accommodate neurodivergent minds.


Who is this mini-workbook aimed at?

The workbook is designed for neurodivergent individuals, their caregivers, mental health professionals, and anyone interested in understanding and supporting people experiencing neurodivergent burnout.


Is this workbook suitable for all age groups?

It is primarily intended for teenagers and adults, considering the nature of its content and the engagement level required. Though as parents ourselves we have found that the knowledge we have gathered has allowed us to approach parenting our own Neurodivergent families with an evolved perspective. Much of this information will remain accurate for your neurodivergent kiddos as well, we only suggest to ages around 16+ with supervision due to some difficult topics surrounding unhealthy coping mechanisms such as self-harm and addiction that could prove triggering to some. (trigger warnings have been provided)


Do I need prior knowledge about neurodivergence to use this workbook?

No prior knowledge is necessary. The workbook as much as possible we have created this workbook to be as accessible and informative for individuals at all levels of understanding about neurodivergence.

We encourage you to revisit these workbooks as a point of reference whenever you feel you need to. This short introductory book is the smallest in the collection.
