Karl-Friedrich Abel: „Sonate a-Moll“ für Kontrabass und Basso continuo

Eine Transkription der Sonate e-Moll für Viola da Gamba und Basso continuo, der dritten der „sechs leichten Sonaten für Viola da Gamba“. Die drei Sätze setzen die Beherrschung des Daumenaufsatzes voraus, stellen aber sonst keine besonderen spieltechnischen Anforderungen. Dem originalen Notentext sind vom Bearbeiter Verzierungen als Anregung hinzugefügt worden. Die Bearbeitung ist für den Kontrabass in Solostimmung vorgesehen, trotzdem liegt eine transponierte Klavierstimme bei. Sollte die Sonate mit Cembalo gespielt werden, empfiehlt sich die Besetzung eines Continuo-Basses, wofür eine eigene Stimme beiliegt.

A transcription of the Sonata in E minor for viola da gamba and basso continuo, the third of the 'six easy sonatas for viola da gamba'. The three movements require mastery of the thumb attachment, but otherwise make no special technical demands. The arranger has added embellishments to the original musical text as a suggestion. The arrangement is intended for the double bass in solo tuning, although a transposed piano part is included. If the sonata is to be played with harpsichord, a continuo bass is recommended, for which a separate part is included.
