The Damascus Road Made Simple
Saul the persecutor struck down at noon on the road to Damascus (Acts 9) -- the risen Jesus confronts His enemy, blinds him, breaks him, and remakes him into Paul the apostle. No one is beyond reach.
The Damascus Road Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through Saul's conversion and calling: the breathing-out of threatenings, the light above the brightness of the sun, the voice from heaven ("I am Jesus whom thou persecutest"), the three days of blindness, Ananias on Straight Street, the scales falling, the straightway preaching, the midnight basket escape, Barnabas and the fearful church, the new name for the new mission, and the old apostle's final testimony -- chief of sinners, pattern of mercy.
Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who draws sinners, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, the risen Lord of the Damascus road -- and the Holy Spirit who alone convicts, converts, fills, and sends. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Deliverance is the Spirit's work, never willpower's.
Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Read slowly. No one is beyond reach.
