Digital chart and instructions in English (US terms) with detailed photos for creating the "Gothica" blanket in mosaic crochet. This pattern uses the overlay mosaic crochet technique.

Gothica is a Halloween themed blanket inspired by old Victorian damask-style wallpaper. The pattern includes 6 different Halloween characters (Black Cat, Skull, Raven, Witch, Jack-o-lantern, Ghost) and can be mixed and matched to create any configuration you like. The blanket can be made any size from king sized to baby blanket, or even a pillow or small wall-hanging.

Yarn used for orange and black sample blanket:

Cascade Pacific (worsted/medium #4) acrylic/merino wool blend

12 skeins (about 2556 yards) Red Orange

11 skeins (about 2230 yards) Black

Dimensions: 52” x 66”

This is an intermediate to advanced level mosaic crochet pattern. The pattern is chart based and NOT written row by row. These charts have several special stitches, and each pattern includes a detailed photo tutorial of those stitches, as well as reference photos for completed rows. If you're new to mosaic crochet there are links to video tutorials within the pattern to help teach you the technique and how to read a chart pattern.

Excellent Pattern (Even for Beginners)

I’m addicted to this pattern! As soon as I saw it on Instagram I knew I had to make this blanket. The only problem was that I had never done mosaic crochet before. Well don’t let that stop you. The pattern has step by step instructions on how to do each stitch with photos. I also watched a few of her youtube videos and practiced before I began. Once you get going it really is easy and repetitive. I can’t believe that something this awesome and intricate is so user friendly and relaxing to make. Thanks for a great pattern. I have a feeling I’m going to be making a few of these once my kids see the finished product.

The best Halloween blanket!

Even though I've never done this type of mosaic crochet before the included video tutorials helped me understand so much better how the stitches worked and I'm living how my blanket is coming out. Plus the ability to personalize the size and look is icing on the cake!

Just try it!

I'm a beginner- both to crochet as a whole and mosaic crochet. This is only my second project overall and first time following a pattern. I fell in love with the samples of this pattern and bought it the day it launched. I was intimidated for a minute when I opened it, but decided to just try it; one stitch, one row at a time. Each stitch is explained with photos and well explained. I'm finishing my first full charts and it was like magic watching the blanket take shape. I highly recommend trying it.
