Add a little glamour to an evening outfit with this lovely scarf. The lace and beading pattern creates a geometric design, which evokes New York’s early skyscrapers.

I designed this elegant evening scarf to be the finishing touch to a special summer evening outfit. I love the geometry, clean lines and architecture of the Art Deco period, especially as found in the buildings of New York and I aimed to include aspects of these in my design, through the use of both beads and lace. To enable both ends of the scarf to be the same, it is worked in two halves and grafted in the middle with Kitchener stitch.

The pattern is charted and also fully written out.

This was my first design to be pubilshed by a magazine (thank you, Knit Now!) in July 2012 and was featured as the main front cover design.
