The Black Goat
New England. 1703. Mr. Sebastian Cauldron is a young painter who owns a small farm with his wife Elizabeth, just outside the city of Yorkshire. Life is grueling, trying to grow their crops and getting the farm in ship shape for winter was coming soon. Sebastian then realizes that something is odd about his little quaint two story Tudor cottage and farming property when he thus notices a strange but creepy black goat near his land. The young man recalls not owning this sort of beast on his farm. Soon he begins to see the goat everywhere he travels and it starts to drive him mad. His most recent painting, of a ship named the HMS Victoria, commanded by a sea faring captain, is being sold for good money. He plans to sell the prized painting to the old sea captain in hopes of earning enough money to support more of their farmland. But it fails, and ends up sending Mr. Cauldron into despair. Soon his despair turns into anguish as the goat stalks him until finally it all comes to fruition. Even his friend Phillip doesn’t believe him. Could it be just a stream of bad luck or something more sinister at hand?
