Rose Ruffle Top | Knitting Pattern

About

The Rose Ruffle Top is worked top down starting from the back. We start by knitting two mirrored back pieces shaped with German Short Rows. Then the fronts are picked up from the shoulders and joined together into a lace panel. Next the top is joined in the round and worked in pattern.

Increases are then worked to create a cute ruffle that can be knit into a baby doll style with a lace hem or a peplum style with a garter stitch hem.

The neckline is finished with I-cords which are mostly worked seamlessly. Finally, we pick up stitches from the back to create an I-cord bow.

Difficulty 3/5. Knitting bobbles, lace, short row shaping.

21 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm | 4 inches.

Measured in stockinette after blocking.

Needles

4mm | US 6 circular needles for top.

4mm | US 6 DPNs for I-cords.

Recommended for chest circumference of

For a finished chest circumference of

Choose a size with -5/+5 cm | -2/+2 inches of positive ease.

Sample is size XS worn with 2.5 cm | 1 inch of positive ease.
