Souvenir della Straniera del Sign. Mo. Bellini (‘Souvenirs from La straniera by Signor Maestro Bellini’) is a delightful collection of short duets by Giuseppe Araldi, based on themes from Vincenzo Bellini’s opera La straniera (1829). Originally arranged by Giuseppe Araldi for two keyed trumpets [c.1830], these reductions are equally suited to modern trumpeters and make excellent studies for practice as well as performance. The two parts are thoughtfully differentiated; the first part is noticeably more virtuosic than the second, which remains more accessible and ideal for a beginner.
